Important Foodbank update

29th April 2020

Changes to Foodbank operations

Thank you to everyone who is continuing to support us with such generosity and kindness. We are so grateful for the wonderful support our community is giving, enabling us to help and support more local people than ever before. Over the last two months we have given out over 8 tonnes of food. Our usual average is 2.5 tonnes a month. We are so thankful for everyone (especially the Royal Mail teams and those arranging street collections) stepping forward to help replenish our stocks. We will continue to need  your help in the weeks and months ahead.

Everyone’s safety has always been our highest priority and we have made substantial changes to our operating models over the last few weeks.

We are now making one further significant (temporary) change.

From Thursday 30 April, we will be working with British Gas (thank you so much to their teams for stepping forward to help) to operate a temporary home delivery service. This means our centres in Cirencester, Fairford and Tetbury will not be operating as usual for the next few weeks.

All of our referral agencies have moved onto our digital referral system. The referral agency will let us know they have issued a voucher, we then contact the client, check dietary and household requirements and schedule in a home delivery.

We thank all of the agencies who have adapted so quickly to this model, to our incredible volunteers who are adapting to every changing operations and to those we are helping for understanding that at present we cannot offer our usual drop-in sessions.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to help all those in need in our communities.
