2024 South Cotswold Food Poverty Report

12th June 2024

As the cost-of-living crisis continues, Cirencester Foodbank has seen more local people in need of its support than at the height of the pandemic. Cirencester Foodbank continues, alongside providing emergency parcels, to work with partners to address the issues that lead people into food poverty. This years food poverty report provides insight on the drivers of food poverty, with stories from local people with lived experience, greater levels of data from our referral partners and evidence gathered from our wellbeing & support work.

This has enables us to to create a more meaningful picture than ever before of the state of hunger in our communities. We hope the information we share will help local organisations target advice and support by providing a better understanding of the core issues being faced by those who are most vulnerable in our communities, and those who want to add their voice in calling for change to understand the issues local people are facing.

We believe the report is only one small piece of a larger jigsaw. However, by working together with those living in our communities, those serving our communities and those support our communities, it may help to provide important and useful information that can be added to the parts of the jigsaw they are able to see.
