Mental Health Support

This list includes a range of services, that can offer support and advice on a wide range of issues relating to mental health either for you, a family member or someone you know. You can find this and other lists at https://cirencester.foodbank.org.uk/get-help/additional-help/

This list does not cover every advice service; it is just a selection. If you or if someone else is seriously ill or injured, and their life is at risk you should call 999 immediately.

If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health problems, contact your GP first – they can refer patients for social care support.

NHS ‘111’ (24 hours a day)
This is the best number to call if you can’t get in contact with anyone at your GP Surgery. In an emergency you can also go to A&E.

MIND: SWINDON AND GLOUCESTER
As well as helping you with mental health issues, can offer advice on welfare benefits, housing and employment. Services also include:

Steps Ahead – for adults aged 18-25 who have been out of work or training for over a year due to mental health difficulties who want to find work or training
Universal Credit advice service – help throughout every step of the process from making the initial claim to disputing incorrect decisions made by the Dept for Work and Pensions. Call 0208 985 4239 Check website for opening times.

Support for children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing – including suicidal thoughts, abuse or assault, self-harm, bullying and relationship issues and issues arising from the impact of coronavirus. The website has loads of information, but for urgent help, 24/7, Text YM to 85258.
