More ways to get help during the cost of living crisis

19th February 2023

The cost-of-living crisis is seeing more people struggling to pay energy bills, housing costs and afford food.

As a result many of the Foodbanks partners who provide support to address the challenges being faced, who would provide a foodbank voucher if needed, are seeing high demand  and long wait times on their phones.

We are pleased to be working with GRCC Community Wellbeing Service to offer another route to support, where people are struggling to get through to Citizens Advice, Help Through Hardship or to other support providers.

The Cotswolds Community Wellbeing Service is a free and confidential service which offers support to help improve your health and wellbeing. Anyone over the age of 16 living in the Cotswold area, or registered with a Cotswold GP, can access the Community Wellbeing Service (CWS). You will need your NHS number to receive a referral, however the reason for referral does not need to be a medical issue. Click this link to quickly Find your NHS number – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

The service offers one-to-one support provided by an assigned a Social Prescriber based on your location. They will work with you to create a plan suited to your needs and what works best for you. If needed they also can refer you to the foodbank for provision of a emergency food parcel.

You can call or email the Community Wellbeing Support line at: 07738 106384 / [email protected]

If you are struggling to get through to a support agency to get a foodbank referral, we want to hear from you so we can help. Please call or email us via the contact details found on this website.
