Harvest Donations

Harvest festivals in the UK usually take place during the Autumn, to mark the end of the main harvest season. It is traditionally a time to give thanks for the crops that have been grown and to celebrate the end of the hard work involved in gathering them.

Most churches and schools throughout the country have a Harvest Festival service or celebration, and support the foodbanks by donating tinned and dried goods, collected as part of the service, to us.

Harvest is one of the busiest times of year for food banks, with several tonnes of food often being donated in just a few weeks.

As part of our Harvest campaign, local churches, schools, businesses, and community groups across our area hold Harvest festivals to collect food to donate to us.

This year, we are very low on certain core items and we are asking for supporters to consider donating these items so that our stocks remain strong for the winter months.

This includes concentrated juice, soup, tinned vegetables, long-life milk, tinned tomatoes, puddings and snack bars.

If you are a local church, school or communnity group and you wish to support us, do contact us. You can also download one of our posters or other resources to support your collection.
