I’ve been a trustee since 2018 and became chair in June 2025. I became a trustee to help address the hidden hardship in the south Cotswolds, highlighted by my wife’s role as a headteacher in a local primary school. My experience running businesses in the energy industry proved valuable as Cirencester Foodbank successfully navigated the challenges of the covid pandemic and as the charity continued to grow over the last 7 years. When I’m not commuting to London I can be found out on the water at a local sailing club.

I’ve been a Trustee of Cirencester Foodbank since 2019 and work regularly as a volunteer in the Tetbury Distribution Centre. After a career in the computer industry I spent 10 years working with start-up companies in Africa as a Business Development Adviser, before offering this experience to the Foodbank to try to assist in its mission of removing the need for foodbanks. I like to enjoy my spare time with my five very active grandchildren.
I joined the board of Cirencester Foodbank in 2018 and served as chair of the trustees 2020 - 2025. Having moved to the area in 2010, I was surprised to learn that the need for a foodbank existed in such an affluent area as the south Cotswolds. I joined the foodbank as I believe that access to food is a basic human right and the underlying reasons leading people to use a foodbank should be addressed. I have used my professional skills acquired as a lawyer, as well as my experience in the public sector, to navigate the challenges of increasing demand for the foodbank and adapting the foodbank's services to address the underlying causes of food poverty in our community. I can be found every day walking the beautiful local footpaths with my beloved Airedale terrier, Eddie.

I joined the Foodbank in 2021 as a volunteer and became Trustee in 2023. I am involved in the Governance and Personnel aspects of the foodbank and also act as secretary. I believe everyone should have access to support to prevent them being hungry, alone and unable to access services that could help them. Children should have enough food to learn and play. Unforeseen circumstances and poor physical and mental health should not leave people without enough to eat. I have more than 40 years’ experience of business and have been involved in charity work for 20 years. I love being outdoors, hiking with my little dog, gardening and growing fruit and vegetables, or curled up with a good book when the weather interferes too much.

I joined the Board as Trustee Treasurer in 2025. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 and work as a Fractional Finance Director, mainly supporting charities to maximise their resources and ensure sustainable futures. I’m keen to use my experience to support the local community and I believe in the Foodbank ethos of supporting people to not need to rely on our services. I can often be found walking my dog in Cirencester or spending time with my family.
I’ve recently been appointed as a trustee in May 2025. I run a property company, and the Foodbank used to be a tenant of mine in Cirencester. This led to an appreciation of the real hardship that can be experienced through food poverty and encouraged me to get involved and play my part in supporting the cause. I’m a Chartered Surveyor and have been involved in the property business throughout the UK for over 40 years. I hope my experience in finance and governance will help bring something positive to the Foodbank. I’m a keen walker, although somewhat slow.
