Cirencester Foodbank Reverse 12 Days of Foodbank Christmas Campaign.
As a Foodbank, we see referrals for emergency support increase significantly over the winter and especially around Christmas. Each year we add some Christmas items to our emergency parcels to ensure local families in hardship can find some joy in the season. If you are interested in partnering with us this year to collect items to include in our emergency food parcels, read on!
Why Reverse 12 Days of Christmas?
In the 12 days of Christmas, the song speaks of the gifts received. However, the Foodbank’s Reverse 12 Days of Christmas is about giving gifts to support others.
How does it run?
Due to the high demand for our services, we started the process of packing emergency hampers in November and client delivery/collection of the parcels takes place from the 11th of December. This is the only way that we can meet the high demand. However, this means that we do need any Christmas-related donations by the 29th of November to enable this packing to take place.
Our main focus is the provision of long-life healthy food and our Christmas donation list contains many of the key items we normally include in an emergency food parcel and that we have less stock for. You can also see a longer list by downloading and following us on the BankTheFood app. This shopping list is also on our website.
Our warehouse will be open during the following times from the 20th of November, to enable donations to be dropped off to us:
Mondays (1:30-3:30pm)
Tuesdays (6:00-7:30pm)
Fridays (10:30-12:30am)*
Or by appointment (call 01285 896360)
*The warehouse is not open on Friday 30th November as this is our National Tesco collection event.
